Welcome!

Joshua 23:10: One man of you shall chase a thousand

July 17th, 2011

Joshua 23:10

One man of you shall chase a thousand: for the LORD your God, he it is that fighteth for you, as he hath promised you.

It doesn’t matter who your opposition is when compared to who you have on your side.

Deuteronomy 1:8: Go in and possess

July 17th, 2011

Deuteronomy 1:8

Behold, I have set the land before you: go in and possess the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give unto them and to their seed after them.

The Lord always has in mind to give us great things, but He still expects us to put some work and faith into going in to possessĀ it rather than just handing it over.

Numbers 11:14-17 Because it is too heavy for me

July 16th, 2011

Numbers 11:14-17

I am not able to bear all this people alone, because it is too heavy for me. And if thou deal thus with me, kill me, I pray thee, out of hand, if I have found favour in thy sight; and let me not see my wretchedness. And the LORD said unto Moses, Gather unto me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom thou knowest to be elders of the people, and officers over them; and bring them unto the tabernacle of the congregation, that they may stand there with thee. And I will come down and talk with thee there: and I will take of the spirit which is upon thee, and will put it upon them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with thee, that thou bear it not thyself alone.

God doesn’t intend that anyone should have to do all the work all by themselves, so we need to be honest with ourselves, with Him, and with other people when the division of labor needs some adjustments, and He at least will listen whether others do or not.

Leviticus 4:27-28: If any sin through ignorance

July 16th, 2011

Leviticus 4:27-28

And if any one of the common people sin through ignorance, while he doeth somewhat against any of the commandments of the LORD concerning things which ought not to be done, and be guilty: or if his sin, which he hath sinned, come to his knowledge: then he shall bring his offering, a kid of the goats, a female without blemish, for his sin which he hath sinned.

Even when we sin in ignorance without any wrongful intent, it’s still important to make things right.

Exodus 3:16-17: I will bring you up out of the affliction

July 15th, 2011

Exodus 3:16-17

Go, and gather the elders of Israel together, and say unto them, The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, appeared unto me, saying, I have surely visited you, and seen that which is done to you in Egypt: And I have said, I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt unto the land of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, unto a land flowing with milk and honey.

No matter where we are at, the Lord sees and does not forget us, and plans great things ahead of us whatever our current hardships might be.

Genesis 3:6: And when the woman saw that the tree was good

July 15th, 2011

Genesis 3:6

And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her, and he did eat.

It’s never a good idea to second-guess God thinking we know better than Him.
